Microstructure and mechanical property analyses of the metal parts direct fabricated by laser cladding

  • Some tensile samples of stainless steel have been fabricated directly by laser cladding with three path-filling models.The results show that the fracture character of tensile samples with high bond strength is ductile rupture,and the yielded strength and rupture strength are higher than the corresponding values of samples with the conventional processing methods.The orientation of laser scanning has no significant influence on tensile performance.Microstructure analyses of tensile samples by SEM show that crystalline grains are very fine and have the orientated solidification structures.
