Abstract: Airborne lidar is one of the important reconstruction measures of 3-D building models. Research methods and developing progresses of 3-D building reconstruction based on airborne lidar point cloud data were reviewed. The characteristics and key issues of model-driven, data-driven and hybrid algorithms were analyzed and discussed. The hybrid algorithm integrating the merits of both the other methods is the significant developing trend of 3-D building reconstruction.
