In this paper,the fundamental mode in unstable resonators is analysed by using matrix method in optics.The distribution of conjugate object and image points for various unstable resonators on the g-parameter diagram is obtained.

The difficulty in the determination of the orientation in frequency doubled devices by X—ray technique has been solved by using the polarization microscope,Thus,the determination of the orientation of sheet crystals can be satisfactorily settled by the combination of these two methods.

Abstract:
The causes of fluctuation of 1.3414μm Nd:YAP CW laser are analyzed and investigated in this paper.It has been shown that the fluctuations of laser output are caused-by the variations of gain,lois and oscillation condition of resonator.Based on these investigations,the technique of suppressing fluctuations at different frequencies is explored and the stable spikefree TEM00 mode laser output with better than 0.875% has been successfully obtained in wide band.

This paper gives a device to obtain a single longitudinal mode pulsed laser beam.The hybrid TEA CO2 laser is a kind of laser that put a SLM CW CO2 laser and a TEA CO2 laser into one reson-a tor.The injection is internal so that the structure is simple and the operation is easy to be done.The expected results have been got and some improvement methods have also been put forward.

The inhomogeneous index and inhomogeneous disper sion of the optical thin films are discused from the ideal model of the real structure of these,and possible models have been proposed for the inhomogeneous dispersion in this thesis.A method of measuring the inhomogeneous dispersion has been designed.And the measurements have completed for the ZnS thin layers.The results of the measurement and the computation by computer are given for the ZnS thin layers in this thesis.
