Simulation study on the effect of tin feeding angle on melting rate in laser welding

  • In order to improve the processing efficiency of tin wire welding in the microelectronics industry, a laser welding model was established using the finite element theory. Through the analysis of the temperature field, the influence of the tin feeding angle on the welding speed was obtained. The results show that, with the increase of tin feeding angle, the melting volume per unit time increases first and then decreases. When the tin feeding angle is between 45° and 75°, the melting rate of tin wire in unit time increases from 14.3320 mm3/s to 15.3160 mm3/s with the increase of tin feeding angle. When the tin feeding angle is between 75° and 90°, the melting rate of tin wire decreases from 15.3160 mm3/s to 14.6425 mm3/s with the increase of tin feeding angle. When the tin feeding angle is 75°, the melting rate of tin wire is the highest, which is 15.3160 mm3/s. This result is helpful to find the most suitable tin feeding angle and improve the processing efficiency in the process of laser welding tin wire.
