Abstract:
The Cr3+,Nd3+:ZnWO4(Cr,Nd:ZW)single crystals to size of 25mm×50mm have been grown by CZ method in our laboratory.The optical and thermomechanical properties such as the absorption section,emission section,life of excitation state,laser action,are experimentally investigated.The results show that the Cr,Nd:ZW laser can operate at 950nm with 1.62mJ/pulse output energy and 0.79% slope efficiency obtained at room temperature.

Abstract:
Diode pumped micro green laser with Nd:YAG+KTP,operating at 532nm with 5.6mW single longitudinal mode output,is described.The feature of the laser is that the output is single longitudinal mode and has no "green noise".The dimensions of the laser are 36mm×32mm×26mm.
Analysis on self-starting condition of self-mode-locked Ti:Al2O3

Abstract:
The self-starting condition of the self-mode-locked Ti:Al2O3 laser suffered the influence of resonator parameters.Based on the analysis of the beam propagation in resonator,a self-mode-locked judgemental factor δ is obtained.A large δ corresponds the wide adjustment region of the mode locked area.In resonator,here are two areas satisfying both the self-mode-locked condition and self-starting condition.The self-mode-locked and self-starting region is a few tens μm.In experiment,the self-mode-locked and self-starting laser pulses of 74fs are obtained.The theoretical calculation is well agree with the experimental results.

Abstract:
In magneto optical (M-O) storage system,the read/write characteristics of the recording media,(M-O) material film,has direct effects on the performance of M-O storage system,such as SNR,quality of readout signals,direct erase/rewrite processing,etc.As a result,developing new M-O materials with good read/write characteristics could improve the performance of M-O storage system.In this paper,a system for testing read/write characteristics of M-O materials is presented.Static read/write tests have been applied to the new M-O materials,MnBiAl,which has large Kerr rotation.The experimental results give useful data for the improvement of read/write characteristics and the study of the practicality of this new M-O materials.

Abstract:
In this paper,we mainly discusses the emergence and developing of the melted pool in the process of impulse laser conduction welding.According to thermal conduction equation,the numerical model of nonlinear parabola equation and the numerical resolution of the instantaneous temperature distribution obtained.The experiments show the good agree with the results of numerical calculation.

This paper deals with the problem of diffraction efficiency with the average permittivity in the hologram and the refractive index of the hologram and the surrounding medium.Finally,the expression of diffractive efficiency of volume hologram,which is different from Kogelnik's expression,is derived.

Abstract:
Based on geometrical optics formulation,this paper deals with the problem of angle-of-arrival influence of reflected beam by a reflector,and derived the expression of angle-of-arrival variance.The expression shows that:(1)the variance σr2 of angle-of-arrival is equal to zero,when the back reflector is illuminated by the beam of collimated or focused or spherical light beam;(2)the variance σr2 of angle-of-arrival is twice time of the variance of the line of sight path propagating beam when the specular reflector is illuminated by collimated or spherical light beam.

Study on laser cladding of Fe-WC ceramic metal composite coating

Abstract:
Fe-WC ceramic-metal composite coatings were cladded on the surface of A3 steel by using a 2kW CO2 laser.To different laser scanning speed and different Fe-WC compositions,the microstructure and microhardness of cladded layers are tested and analyzed.The experimental results show that the proper addition of WC crystal powder and increasing of the laser scanning speed enable the braunch structure to get fine and improve the surface microhardness.The average microhardness of the cladded surface can be up to 960kg/mm2,when 25wt% 9.5μm crystal WC added in Fe-01 metal powder and the Fe-WC cladded layer had been treated.

Abstract:
The first ruby laser had been demonstrated 35-years ago,since then the medical laser techniques have been researching and developing to provide a large of laser medical instruments.This paper reviews the developing course of the laser medicine and points out that with the developing of lasers and laser new wavelength the laser techniques will have the wide applications in medicine,especially in laser ophthalmology,microscopy surgery,laser acupuncture and etc.

A method of making synthetic plane rainbow holograms by spatial division is proposed and experimentally demonstrated.This kind of holograms can record and reconstruct a 360°or moving object,and can be used to make embossed holograms.

Abstract:
Experimental design and compatible analysis technique are used to investigate effects of laser beam process parameters on the weld bead geometry and back temperature in laser beam welding under certain laser beam conditions.The established mathematical modle and the study results can be used to control laser weld quality,optimize the process parameters.

Abstract:
In general case,super-Gaussian beam is not the solutions of Helmholtz equation and approximation condition of SVA.But,by means of varying the distribution of refractive index of transmitting medium,super-Gaussian beam could be the eigensolutions of Helmholtz equation.This paper proved that super-Gaussian beam is the eigensolution of wave equation in GRIN fiber, and derived the distribution function of refractive index.As the special examples of this paper,the cases of literature [3] and power law refractive index distribution are discussed.

Abstract:
Optical density D,defined as D=-log(transition light power Pt/total incident light power Pi),is one of important performance figures of laser eye protective glasses.In practice,it is defficult to make the measurement of parameter D>3.This paper proposed a measurement system including a laser source,double optical path subsystem,a data sampling and processing subsystem with computer.With the system,the case of parameter D>6 can be measured.

Abstract:
In this paper,the key techniques to improve the pumping properties and reliability of Xenon flash lamp are summarized.Especially the paper points out that the main factors effecting the pumping characteristics are selection of lamp tube and welding procedure,and the silicon tube doped with Ce and high-temperature silicon wolfram diffusing procedure are recommend.
